Accessing the University
International Flights - Izmir's international airport, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, is a hub for both direct and connecting international flights. Once arrived at the airport, there are a selection of routes to reach the Yasar University campus, which is located in Bornova on the east side of the city.
The IZBAN metro is a commuter rail system, which departs from the Adnan Menderes Airport to take you into the city of Izmir. Leave the train at the 'Halkapinar Station,' and change to the train traveling in the direction of 'Bornova'. Travel with this train until you reach 'Bolge Station'. The Yasar University campus is located just beside this metro station.
By Airport Bus:
The Havas airport bus travels between the airport 'Arrivals' building and the area of the city centre called 'Alsancak'. The cost is approximately 5 euros, and the timetable is available at their official webpage: www.havas.com.tr/en
By Public Bus:
Public buses depart from the airport 'Arrivals' building each hour at twenty minutes to the hour. They travel either to the city centre in Alsancak or to the University campus area called Bornova.
A 24-hour taxi service runs from the airport into the city. It is safe to travel by taxi in Izmir, and rates are shown on the meter. An additional charge will be added during night hours.
Izmir has a modern and extensive public transportation system with buses, metro, and ferryboats, which makes getting around the city very easy and affordable. The university campus is directly accessible by city buses and metro. University parking is also available for all students, who travel to the university by car.
Yasar University Halls of Residence:
Built in 2011, the Halls of Residence are located within five minute walk of the university campus. The modern buildings accommodate some 400 students. All rooms (twin or triple bed options) have en suite bathrooms and are furnished to the highest standards with the student’s needs in mind. A mini fridge, free unlimited wireless internet access, hot water (24 hours a day), central heating in winter and air conditioning in summer, is also provided.
