ABOUT ISTANBUL MEDENIYET UNIVERSITY
İstanbul Medeniyet University (IMU) which is located on the Anatolian side of Istanbul, within the border of Uskudar and Kadıkoy, consists of 11 faculties, 2 schools and 4 graduate schools.
In order to build the future of our university, a road map was created using expert knowledge and experience of our colleagues. Cooperations were developed with various local and foreign stakeholders and institutions.
IMU has also a research and training hospital which started carrying out health services with the Faculty of Medicine.
IMU provides education in two campuses; one in Goztepe and the other in Maltepe. Postgraduate education started in the spring semester of the 2011-2012 academic year and undergraduate education started in the fall semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. Some departments in the Faculty of Political Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Humanities and Faculty of Medicine are currently accepting undergraduate students at Göztepe North Campus (Ünalan). IMU offers one year intensive English language education in the School of Foreign Languages at Maltepe Campus.
Besides collaborating with national and international universities and institutions, IMU also organizes civilization and research conferences and symposia, projects and various activities such as Children’s University.

İstanbul Medeniyet University, aiming to be an international university, has established an international office to achieve this aim. The office has been designed to facilitate international cooperation projects, and exchange necessary correspondence with the institutions. International office will provide significant contributions to the internationalization process of our university. İstanbul Medeniyet University will participate in several valuable cooperation with other universities.
Erasmus Program Coordination Unit
Erasmus program provides non-refundable financial support for the academic institutions to run common projects and realize short term student, academic and administrative personnel exchanges.
Bologna Coordination Unit
Bologna Process, which states the reforms and targets that are prepared to organize Europe Higher Education platform, aims to increase the quality of life in terms of the expectations of business world and civil society on the condition to be in accordance with national position and culture.
Mevlana Exchange Program Coordination Unit
With this program, it is aimed that both our students and instructors can meet different culture and civilizations; and observe the education systems and the processes of information production at the universities they visit.
Being conscious of the fact that students should make use of their free time and increase their knowledge, abilities and creativities, our university aims to help the students to complete their personal developments in social, cultural, sport and art activities along with modern education. Designed in this respect, IMU Student Clubs will vary according to the fields of interest of the students.
