Conditions for Application and Important Dates

There are some differences in terms of the type of high school for students who graduate from high schools in Turkey. According to this:

I. The acceptance of students who graduated from high schools in Turkey where the core of education is in German or that apply a German education program:

a) For Turkish citizens

The Turkish students who graduated from high schools in Turkey where the core of education is in German or that apply a German education program have the opportunity to register to Turkish-German University in two ways:

1) After taking the university entrance examinations (YGS and LYS) conducted by ÖSYM (the institution that prepares and conducts examinations in Turkey), they can register through the general quota.

2) After taking the university entrance examinations (YGS and LYS) conducted by ÖSYM (the institution that prepares and conducts examinations in Turkey), they can register through special quota.

Note: For students graduated from these high schools, there is special quota which is 30% of the general student quota. In order to register through special quota, Turkish students graduated from these types of high schools have to take university entrance examinations (YGS and LYS). The acceptance of the students through this special quota will be done considering the scores of the students at the university entrance examinations (YGS and LYS).

• The candidates who choose Law Major have to get at minimum 400,00 TM-3 (Turkish-Maths 3)

• The candidates who choose Business Major have to get at minimum 360,00 TM-1 (Turkish-Maths 1)

• The candidates who choose Political Science and Public Administration Major have to get at minimum 360,00 TM-2 (Turkish-Maths 2)

• The candidates who choose Mechatronic Systems Engineering Major have to get at minimum 380,00 MF-4 (Maths-Science 4)

• The candidates who choose Industrial Engineering Major have to get at minimum 380,00 MF-4 (Maths-Science 4)

For the students in this group, there is no speciality in their acceptance through general quota.

b) The ones who are not Turkish citizens

The foreign students who graduated from high schools in Turkey where the core of education is in German or that apply a German education program are subject to “Foreign Student” status. These candidates can register through foreign student quota.

II. The acceptance of students graduated from other high schools:

For the students in this group, there is no speciality in their acceptance to the school. The principles and regulations applied in other universities are valid in Turkish-German University, as well.
