DUMLUPINAR UNIVERSITY GUIDE FOR THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

PART ONE

Aim, Scope, and Legal Basis

Aim

Article 1- The aim of this directive is to set procedures and principles regarding the admission of students from abroad to two-year degree and undergraduate degree programs at Dumlupınar University.

Scope

Article 2- This directive covers principles, quotas, application requirements, exams, and other relevant issues regarding the admission of students from abroad to two-year degree and undergraduate degree programs at Dumlupınar University.

Legal Basis

Article 3- This directive was prepared based on the decision of the General Board of Higher Education Board dated 13.02.2013. 

Definitions and Abbreviations

Article 4- For the purpose of this instruction, the following descriptions and abbreviations apply:

a) ABITUR: German High School Graduation Exam,

b) ACT (American College Test), American university entrance exam

c) Al-Shahada-Al-Thanawiyya: Syrian and Libyan university entrance exam

d) DPÜYÖS I: Dumlupınar University Turkish exam

e) DPÜYÖS II: Dumlupınar University General ability exam

f) DPÜYÖS III: Dumlupınar University Foreign Students special talent exam (Fine Arts Faculty, School of Physical Education and Sports)

g) Departments: Anadolu Universtiy Departments in Faculties and Schools

h) GAOKAO: Chinese university entrance exam

h) GCE AL: General Certificate of Education, British High School Graduation Exam

ı) IB: (International Baccalaureate), International Baccalaureate Exam

i) T.R.N.C. (K.K.T.C.) : Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus

j) Vocational Schools: Vocational Schools of Dumlupınar University

k) Rector: Rector of Dumlupınar University

l) SAT-I : (Scholastic Aptitude Test), American university entrance exam

m) Senate: Dumlupınar University Senate,

n) TAWJIHI: Jordanian and Palestinian High School Graduation Exam,

PART TWO 

General Principles, Application and Assessment

Conditions for Application 

The application of high school graduates or seniors who:         

1) are foreign nationals,

2) are native-born Turkish nationals that have ceased to be a citizen by courtesy of the Ministry of Interior and their minor children registered in the document of expatriation, provided that they can certify that they hold the official document for the use of rights defined in the Turkish Citizenship Law (Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law no. 5901 reads as follows: “(1) A child born to a Turkish mother or through a Turkish father within the unity of marriage either in Turkey or abroad is a Turkish citizen”. The candidates are required to read the Turkish Citizenship Law before making an application.)

3) are native-born foreigners that have become a Turkish citizen afterwards / dual nationality holders in the same situation,

4) are Turkish nationals that have completed last three years of their high school education in a foreign country other than TRNC (including the ones that have completed the entire high school education at a Turkish school in a foreign country other than TRNC),

5) are nationals of TRNC that reside in TRNC, and have completed their high school education in TRNC and have taken GCE AL exam, and are nationals of TRNC, and have received education in a high school in another country between 2005 and 2010 and have taken GCE AL exam will be accepted.

Those Not Eligible to Apply

1) Turkish citizens who completed their entire secondary education in Turkey or in the TRNC (Any course required to graduate must not be taken in Turkey or the TRNC)

2) Citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except those who completed their secondary education in the TRNC and received a GCE AL, and such applicants who completed their secondary education between 2005 and 2010 in another country and received a GCE AL, and such applicants who were enrolled and educated in a college or a high school in another country between 2005 and 2010 and will have a GCE AL);

3) Applicants with dual citizenship whose first citizenship is Turkish due to being born in Turkey, which is stated in provision b of Article 6 (except those who completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus/those who completed their entire secondary education in a Turkish school in a foreign country other than TRNC);

4) Applicants with dual citizenship whose one citizenship is that of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (except those who completed their secondary education in the TRNC and received a GCE AL, and such applicants who completed their secondary education between 2005 and 2010 in another country and received a GCE AL, and such applicants who were enrolled and educated in a college or a high school in another country between 2005 and 2010 and will have a GCE AL);

5) Turkish citizens who completed their secondary education at a school within Turkey that is either affiliated to the Embassy of a foreign country or is a foreign high school. This provision also applies to applicants with dual citizenship whose first citizenship is Turkish due to being born in Turkey (which is stated in Provision b of Article 6).

 

REQUIRED REGISTRATION DOCUMENTS

Documents stated below are required for enrolment:          

1) Equivalency certificate of the high school diploma and the original cerificate,

2) Diploma,

3) Academic transcript,

4) An orginal copy of the candidate’s university entrace certificate or an exam result certificate having the status of high school graduation,

5) The original copy of the pages of the passport showing the id of the candidate and validty of the passport together with the translated( into Turkish) pages of them certified by notary or Turkish Foreign Agencies,

6) Bank receipt showing the tution has been paid to the relevant bank,

7) Educational visa,

8) ( If there is ), the original copy of the Foreign Language Document or Turkish Proficiency Document certified by notary or Turkish Foreign Agencies,

9) 6 passport photos of the sizes 4,5*6

10) Certificate of Residence,

11) A letter of undertaking showing that students can can afford his/her own life,

12) Health insurance.
