General Requirements 

Students who have graduated from any institution that is equivalent to Turkish high-schools and those who meet the application criteria below may apply for the undergraduate programs at the Beykent University. 

a) On the condition that they have graduated or expecting graduation from a high-school; 

1) International students (non Turkish citizens),

2) Those holding Turkish citizenship by birth and renounced their Turkish citizenship, and their children under 18 who are listed in the renouncement document but documenting their certification for rights mentioned in the Turkish Citizenship Law, no: 5901, Item 7, stating that “Anyone born, either in Turkey or abroad, in the marriage of a Turkish mother or father, is a Turkish citizen.” Candidates who wish to apply within the “applications from abroad” category should examine the Turkish Citizenship Law.

3) Those who hold citizenship of other countries by birth and have gained the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey / those who hold dual-citizenship,

*4) a) Among those who continue their secondary education abroad before the date 2/1/2013 and who hold the citizenship of the Republic of Turkey, those who have completed their last three years of secondary education in another country, other than Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (including those who have completed their whole secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),     

b) Those who start their secondary education abroad after the date 2/1/2013 and who have completed their whole high school education in another country, other than TRNC (including those who have completed their whole secondary education in a Turkish institution under the Ministry of Education of Turkey in another country, other than TRNC),5) Those who hold the citizenship of TRNC, who reside in TRNC and who have completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system, as well as those who have registered and completed their secondary education in a GCE AL system abroad between 2005-2010.

Application and Registration Period :

International Students can apply to Beykent University from the beginning of May till the mid of August.

Applying to Undergraduate Programmes which accept students with the Beykent University Aptitude Test :

Students who applied to the undergraduate programmes which accept students with the Aptitude Test, are supposed to take and pass the Aptitude Test that is organized by Beykent University before the semester begins.

International Students who get registered for a Turkish-medium programmes need to submit their Turkish proficiency certificate. We accept TOMER certificates taken from other universities. Students who do not have TOMER certificate, should take Beykent University Turkish Proficiency Test. The ones who pass this exam will be accepted into the programme and when they start the programme they will exempted from the compulsary freshman Turkish courses. Ones who fail the Beykent University Turkish Proficiency Test will be accepted into the programme, however, when they start the programme they will have to take compulsoy freshman Turkish courses.

Applying to Undergraduate Programmes taught in English and one year  English Preparation Class is compulsory for students. The language of instruction in the Department of Intrepreting and Translation(Russian) is Russian and one year Russian Preparation Class is compulsory. Registration of students who failed to pass the English exam twice will be deleted.

Below international and national exams are accepted by our university for Mixed and English Programmes:

For English Programmes accepted exams are:

• TOEFL IBT; 90 

• CAE :  A score 

• CPE : A, B, C scores

• KPDS, ÜDS, YDS exams : minimum 75

• PTE Academic : minimum 75

For Mixed Programmes accepted exams are:

• TOEFL IBT; 75 

• CAE and CPE :  A, B, C scores

• KPDS, ÜDS, YDS exams : minimum 60

• PTE Academic : minimum 55

Required documents for Associate and BA Degree Programmes;

  1. Application Form.

  2. Original of the High School Diploma

  3. An Equivalence Letter received from the Ministry of Education of Turkey certifying that your High School Diploma is equivalent to a Turkish High School Diploma will be required during registration. This document is available at the Ministry of Education of the Turkish Republic or at the Turkish Embassy of your home country.

  4. Copy of the Passport,

  5. 6 photographs

Required documents for Master Degree Programmes;

  1. Application form

  2. Original BA Diploma

  3. Original Copy of Equivalency Certificate for Bachelors Degree Diploma form Council of Higher Education of Turkey Passport copy (it should be include the eductaion visa)

  4. Six ID photos

  5. For the MA Degrees with thesis, candidates should submit their ALES scores. (minimum 55 score)

  6. 6 photographs

Required documents for PhD Degree Programmes;

  1. Application form
  2. Original Masters Degree Diploma

  3. Original Copy of Equivalency Certificate for Masters Degree Diploma form Council of Higher Eductaion of Turkey Passport copy (it should be include the eductaion visa)

  4. Six ID photos

  5. Candidates should submit their ALES scores. (minimum 55 score)

  6. 6 photographs

Tuition Fee;

Beykent University offers around 50% scholarship to all international students studying at Beykent University. : 

Associate (Pre-Bachelor’s) Degree (2 years) : 2.950 $ / per year

Bachelor’s Degree (4 years) : 5.950 $ / pear year

Bachelor’s Degree Law Faculty (4 years) : 7.500 $ / per year

MA Degree without thesis (1 year ) : 3.500 $ 

MA Degree with thesis (2 years) : 4.500 $ (Total)

Phd Degree (4 years ) : 16.100 $ / 4 years

Distance Learning BA Programmes : 1.400 $ / pear year

Distance Learning Associate (Pre-Bachelor’s) Degree (2 years) : 1.000 $ / pear year.

THINGS TO DO;

1- Procedures To Be Fulfilled Abroad (Visa Procedures)

International students are required to apply for an “education visa” to a foreign representative office of Turkey with the documents mentioned below.

a) A letter of enrollment from the relevant higher education institution,

b) A valid and long‐termed passport,

c) A document proving that the student has sufficient funds for a living in Turkey during theperiod of education (a bank account,scholarship document, etc.),

d) The required visa fee according to nationality and reciprocity,

e) The Consulate may request additional documents.

2- Procedures To Be Fulfilled After The Arrival In Turkey (Residence Procedures)

International students with education visas are required to enter Turkey legally through an international open border crossing point. They must apply to The Provincial Security Directorate Foreigners Division (Emniyet Mudurlugu Yabancilar Subesi) they will study with the documents mentioned below to obtain a Residence Permit within 30 days at the latest after the date ofarrival in Turkey.

a) A certificate of enrolment from the relevant higher education institution,

b) A valid long‐termpassport,

c) Education visa from a foreign representative office,

d) A document proving that the student has sufficient funds for a living in Turkey during theperiod of education (a bank account,scholarship document, etc.),

e) The residence permit fee published in the Official Gazette at the beginning of each year,

f) If considered necessary, additional documentsmay be requested.

3- Procedures To Be Fulfilled After Obtaining Residence Permit (Notification Procedures)

a) After obtaining residence permit for education purposes, international students can get their Foreign Identity Number via website of the General Directorate of Civil Registration and Nationality (Nüfus ve Vatandaşlık  İşleri Genel Müdürlüğü) Identity Number Enquiry Page at https://tckimlik.nvi.gov.tr/AnonimSorgu.html.

b)  International students should submit the copy of their permits to the Students affairs office.

c) International students wanting to extend their residence permit must apply to the Provincial Security Directorate Foreigners Division (Emniyet Mudurlugu Yabancilar Subesi) before the expiry date of their permit or within 15 days at the latest after the expiry date of their permit.

d) Changes occurring as a result of graduation, drop out, dismissal, absence etc. should benotified within 15 days, whereas address change should be notified within 48 hours to the The Provincial Security Directorate Foreigners Division (Emniyet Mudurlugu Yabancilar Subesi).

In case of loss, international students must immediately apply to The Provincial Security Directorate Foreigners Division (Emniyet Mudurlugu Yabancilar Subesi) and obtain a new permit.

Student Visa 

Student visa is required for international students. Students who have been accepted to a program need to complete their registration and with the enrollment paper, they are supposed to contact the nearest Turkish consulate at their home country to obtain a student visa before they arrive in Turkey. This visa is of vital importance to get the residence permit in Turkey.

Residence Permit Information for International Students 

Undergraduate or graduate foreign students who applied to our university, need to obtain student visa from the nearest Turkish Consulate in their home country by showing their enrollment paper. Students must complete their admission in Beyket University and have to apply for residance permit to the police Department within one month of their entrance into Turkey.

As long as their residance permits are valid, they do not need a visa to enter Turkey. Expired residance permits, must be extended within 15 days. Otherwise their holder will be prosecuted.

Health Insurance

According to the new regulation, international students studying at Turkish universities (regardless of whether they are scholarship or non-scholarship students) have to get a General Health Insurance. According to this law, international students, who will start their studies at a Turkish university, are entitled to have General Health Insurance that enable them to benefit health insurance while in Turkey within the first three months after the date of their first registration at the university and they are required to pay a monthly health insurance premium to the bank they become insured.

Students are responsible for being aware of and pay this amount. If your country has Bilateral Social Security Agreements that means your insurance in your country is also valid in Turkey.

Exchange Opportunuties;

Beykent university offers many exchange programmes for students wishing to study abroad as part of their Beykent studies.

These exchange opportunities are;

Erasmus Exchange Programme is a European student exchange programme and great opportunity to spend between 3 and 12 months in another European country.

Bilateral Exchange Programme is a programme which aims the exchange of students between the Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of all over the world.

Farabi Exchange Programme enables university students in Turkey to continue their education at an institution of higher education other than their own during a period of one or two semesters.
