Who can apply for TR-YÖS?

International students must fulfill certain conditions to be eligible to apply for TR-YÖS.
The Principles Regarding the Admission of Students from Abroad are determined by the Council of Higher Education in accordance with Article 45/f of the Higher Education Law No. 2547 amended by Law No. 6287, which reads, "The procedures and principles of admission of international students and the students, who have completed their entire secondary education abroad, to higher education institutions are determined by the Council of Higher Education."
Pursuant to the relevant principles, students who meet one of the following conditions are eligible to apply for international student admission quotas, provided that they are in their senior year of high school or have graduated (including the 2022-2023 academic year):
1- Foreign nationals, (provided that those who are studying in secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year [except for embassy schools, international private education institutions in the MOBİS system and foreign nationals studying in our country under the project carried out by the Ministry of National Education])
2- Those who are Turkish citizens by birth but lose their Turkish citizenship by obtaining permission to renounce Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and those who certify that they have a blue card, which is given upon request to those who lost their Turkish citizenship, (provided that those who are studying in secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year)
3- Those who become naturalized Turkish citizens after subsequently acquiring citizenship as a foreign national / dual nationals in a similar position, (provided that those who are studying in secondary education (high school) institutions in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year)
4- Turkish citizens who completed their high school education in high schools abroad (except the high schools in the TRNC) and dual nationals, one of which is Turkish nationality,
5- TRNC nationals who reside in the TRNC, completed their secondary education (high school) in the TRNC and have GCE AL results, and TRNC nationals who have or will have GCE AL results after enrolling and studying in high schools in other countries between 2005-2010.
